UWRT 1101 - ANDREWS

I have been teaching at UNC Charlotte for the past three years, although I have been in the classroom for over nine years. Before joining Niner Nation, I taught high school outside of Chapel Hill in Hillsborough, NC.

 

Speaking of Chapel Hill, I'm a TarHeel twice over and have both an undergraduate and a graduate degree from UNC Chapel Hill. I also have a MA in English from UNCC with a focus in Composition and Rhetoric. 

 

Within composition and rhetoric, digital rhetoric and new media is my primary focus of study. I am fascinated with how the world of communication is shifting and growing within the constraints of new technologies...and part of that fascination has trickled into the classroom by having my students write in digital spaces and create their own e-portfolios and digital projects.

 

I not only have a passion for teaching, but I also have a passion for learning. I plan on joining a PhD program next year with a focus on digital technologies and rhetoric. If I could be a teacher and a student for the rest of my life, I would die a very happy woman.

 

When I'm not getting my learn on, I am usually out running, swimming, biking, or hanging out with friends or my dog Pike.
